Jackpot doesn't spill the beans at the outset and the non-linear depiction of happenings that constantly switch back and forth leave you confused, making you wonder, what's Kaizad up to? The post-interval portions move feverishly and the unanswered questions get an answer. The writing is smart, the pacing is just right, the twists and turns in the narrative are sharp and the culmination catches you completely unaware. Kaizad serves an intelligent thriller. On the whole, JACKPOT proves to be an interesting watch with a sharp and clever second half.

Con artists, rainy Goa, casinos, a porn star - Gustad had the nut game but his approach is cavalier. The narrative - aspiring to be sharp and stylish - ends up lackluster and disjointed with not a single moment of high energy. Not helping matters are songs that pop up from nowhere and have zero connection to the story. Might as well stack them up front and get them out the way before starting the actual film. And as for the acting, one is at a loss of words.

What’s Good: Skin show for shoddy audience. But no treats for cine lovers. Though the film’s music is praiseworthy. What’s Bad: A contrived style of narration and the story which is best understood by Gustad only. Kaizad Gustad’s Jackpot is best forgotten. With a team of really pathetic actors, the film won’t thrill or excite you. If there was one film which just wants to kill you by boring you to death, it would be this one. While the year has had really bad films, this one is the most sleep incurring one of the lot.Tags: Movies Reviews
